Blood and Fire (Blood & Fire, #1) - Mychael Black, Alexander Thrait Originally posted on Joyfully Reviewed: http://www.joyfullyreviewed.com/new-reviews/blood-and-fire-by-mychael-black

After breaking up with his last boyfriend, Jason isn’t really interested in relationships. As the lead singer for a metal band, finding hot men eager for one-night stands isn’t really a problem, either. Good thing too, considering Jason’s “special ability.” He’s a pyrokinetic and keeping things light makes it easy for Jason to keep his emotions in check, thereby ensuring his “gift” harms no one. But lately something – or someone – seems to be watching Jason, making him lose control of his fire. The lick of danger from the unseen stranger turns Jason on, but it also terrifies him. Who – or what – is watching Jason?

Mychael Black starts the Blood and Fire series with a bang in the scintillating Blood and Fire. Jason’s a delicious hero, no doubt about it, but there’s a tiredness to him that adds a dash of vulnerability, making him more human, more appealing. Julian, the man watching Jason, is intriguing, but I don’t want to spoil things by revealing what he is. Although the voices done by the narrator were a bit odd at times, I enjoyed Blood and Fire overall. It’s a sexy story and gives a general idea of who Jason and Julian are, but it definitely left me wanting to learn more about each man. I’m looking forward to Jason and Julian’s journey continuing in the next story, Blood Curse.
