Hidden Desires - Elle Kennedy My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed: http://www.joyfullyreviewed.com/reviews/May10/hiddendesires.ek.html

When fashion designer Rachel Foster finds herself on the wrong side of a locked dressing room door wearing nothing more than some barely-there lingerie, she figures her day can’t get any worse. Then she runs into Travis Gage – her sister Carrie’s ex-boyfriend and the man she holds responsible for Carrie’s suicide back in high school – and finds out she was wrong. But despite Rachel’s best efforts to evade him, Travis corners her and gets her to admit why she loathes him, and Rachel finds out that nothing is as it seems.

Travis is shocked to discover what Rachel thinks of him, but he immediately sets out to clear his name. The homicide detective then offers to help Rachel figure out what really lead to Carrie’s death. The cold case dredges up bad memories, old wounds that have never fully healed, and, to both Rachel and Travis’s surprise, new passion. But can Rachel and Travis overcome the ghosts of their respective pasts in order for their newfound love to survive once they’ve solved the mystery of what happened to Carrie?

I’m always on the lookout for a new book by Elle Kennedy. Her books are always sensual, engaging, and filled with characters who capture my heart and Hidden Desires is no exception. I was immediately sucked into Travis and Rachel’s cold case and wanted to find out what caused Carrie’s death as much as they did. Hot on the heels of this was the romance between Rachel and Travis, which wound its way around my heart. I read Hidden Desires straight through from start to finish because I so wanted Travis and Rachel to find happiness with one another. The obstacles they face are realistic and, though not insurmountable, also not easily overcome. This made their love story all the sweeter, in my opinion. All in all I adored Hidden Desires and cannot wait to read Ms. Kennedy’s next book!
