White Hot is intense, energetic, and completely engrossing.  I’ve been impatiently waiting for this second Hidden Legacy novel and Ilona Andrews did not disappoint.

Nevada and Rogan are the heart of White Hot and you couldn’t ask for two more interesting, compelling characters (and that’s saying something since the entire cast of characters in this book is fascinating).  Nevada is a kickass heroine with a huge heart, a quick mind, and a spine of steel.  She’s already a well-developed character, but I loved watching her come further into her own when it comes to her magic.  Watching her explore her power was just plain neat, but the consequences of her doing so had me on the edge of my seat more than once over the course of the story.  How she deals with the curveballs thrown at her, and how Rogan helps her do so was fantastic.  And speaking of Rogan, he is one sinfully sexy Prime.  He’s as arrogant as ever, but his protective streak made me melt and I loved peeling back the layers to his character.  He and Nevada make an excellent match.  Their love story kicks into high gear in White Hot and I loved every bit of it.  The back-and-forth, the sexual tension, and the pure emotion that springs off the page was utterly fantastic and made me want to dive right back into this story as soon as I finished it.

White Hot is the second book in the Hidden Legacy trilogy, and you definitely want to read Burn for Me before diving into this story.  There’s not much I can say about the overarching series storyline because it would spoil things for readers.  Suffice it to say that if you thought things were intense in Burn for Me, then buckle up because you’re in for one hell of a ride.  The danger to Nevada, Rogan, and those they care about made it nearly impossible to put the book down.  In fact, pretty much everything about White Hot made the book difficult to put down.  It’s by turns thrilling, romantic, sexy, and unexpectedly funny.  My only complaint is that I now have to wait to delve into the final Hidden Legacy book, Wildfire.  I cannot wait to see what Ilona Andrews has in store for Nevada and Rogan!
